ABOUT Champa Mahila Society
Champa Mahila Society (CMS) is a registered women development organization situated at the top-most corner of the perpetual poverty-stricken area of Basanti, Sundarban, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Natural disasters, disease, poverty, superstition, and starvation have become an elemental part of the lives of the people of Sundarban. Most of the residents spend their lives from agriculture, honey collection and fishing, So basically they are dependent on lands, forests, and rivers for their livelihood.

We aim to achieve behavioral, social and economic transformation for women and children towards an India where everyone can have equal opportunities.
It is our motto to empower women living with dignity and contributing as equal partners in development in an environment free from violence and discrimination.
Key Issues
Activities to be Taken up regularly by Champa Mahila Society are on Old Age home, School for Dropouts etc. where we look after the people of poor areas to provide education for children and arrange a shelter for old. We also fight against Drug Addiction, Human Rights, Child Labour as we strictly oppose all of these malpractices. Champa Mahila Society has been working for the underprivileged people of Sundarban especially for needy children & women of the rural islands of Sundarban.
